Hello, dear reader, I hope you’re having a good day. I’m not being paid to write this blog, and it contains information based on my opinions from playing and beating Nexomon on iOS. I’ve played for over 25 hours and beat the game. You can check out my YouTube playlist on Nexomon at Lunar Nebula LLC Gaming to see the gameplay in action. I’m planning to hunt all the Legendaries due to popular demand. Nexomon can be played for free with Nexomon Lite. It is originally a pay-to-play monster catching RPG (role-playing game) in the same vein as Pokémon. It costs $0.99 at the moment and includes in-app payments to quickly unlock Nexomon, multiply XP across your team (definitely worth it), or obtain diamonds for golden nexotraps. Lime Turtle Inc. is the studio behind the game which contains members of the Micromon team. Lime Turtle Inc. keeps that same spirit in Nexomon and even includes references to Micromon in Nexomon. some more bells and whistles to Nexomon. You really don’t need to buy any content. Playing the game and finding diamonds can unlock certain items for you depending on what you want to pay for. You don’t need an internet connection to play Nexomon. NOTE SPOILERS BELOW!
Nexomon is rated 9+ on the App Store for Infrequent/Mild Cartoon or Fantasy Violence. There are a few curse words that pop up in the game so maybe up the rating for you and your kids to 12+ if some curse words bug you. Or you don’t like magic. Or you don’t like Netherworlds. Yeah, there’s one of those too.
Review:
Nexomon plays very similarly to any other monster catching RPG. It has polish, fun animation, but it certainly wasn’t trying too hard to break the mold. If you enjoy the journey of catching monsters, saving the world, and watching a hero’s story unfold, then you’ll enjoy Nexomon. If you’re looking for grand strategy and crazy plot twists, Nexomon isn’t for you. The online multiplayer has never worked for me. Still, the full game is only a dollar. I think you get plenty of bang for your buck. I blazed through the game as fast as I could (only stopping to really grind off camera for the first final boss rush), and it still took over 20 hours to beat the game. Still, the game has clear power scaling based on rarity and doesn’t reward any IVs for your beloved favorite teams. Boss battles are strategic challenges and will require planning, resources, and good old luck to help you win. There are occasional glitches in the game UI. SAVE OFTEN. I recommend playing Nexomon if you are ready for a new monster catching RPG, or love the genre enough to play a decent game.
Time: Nexomon isn’t energy-based. You can play as long as you want to. Just save often. Also, dying on a boss can be annoying to reload because clicking one button will restart the fight with no way to skip dialogue. The other will load your last save file.
Pros and Cons: Nexomon is fast to play. It doesn’t make anything complicated. The question is if you want more meat to your RPG or just some fun. The story and characters are fun and break the fourth wall often. The main con to Nexomon is the lack of depth. Stat growth, move learning, and evolving are limited. Nexomon can only learn a certain set of moves. Thankfully, you can pick and choose whatever moves you want to equip from the list.
Overall Impression: Nexomon is a decent monster-catching RPG which is worth the price tag. It doesn’t do much to change the formula. I like the story and the game’s fast progression. If you still aren’t sure about the game just try the free version. Nexomon is in the App Store waiting for you! If you don’t like RPGs, cute monsters, or anime stories, then maybe Nexomon isn’t for you.
Tips:
I hope the review and tips help you out, dear reader! Save the world from Omnicron and then catch him in Nexomon!

Tips:
- Type advantage is a thing – Water is good against Fire and Mineral, etc. Normal is amazing against all bosses thanks to this chart. You will want the Mega Rare Fleecius, the Special Vulazy, or any decent neutral type monster with the move headbutt. I kid you not, it is the best move in the early game until Rammu learns Spinning Attack. Use your elemental monsters to beat up the normal monsters you see.
- If you buy anything it should be the EXP multiplier – All your monsters will gain EXP (or XP) after battle. Best purchase in the game hands down and it can be bought without spending a dime as long as you find and save all diamonds you loot up to the Nexolord’s Tower.
- SPOILERS: Legendaries are hard to catch – You must defeat Omnicron the second time to unlock Miriam’s Legendary Radar. The guys don’t like being found. I recommend finding a screen with a single grassy patch and then moving back and forth between screens until the radar pops. It took me a minute to do this and get the radar to go off. I unfortunately haven’t found the best spot yet. Note: Legendaries won’t always be the first thing you find and they will leave after approximately two battles in the area. I recommend at least 10 Nexotraps. Luxa didn’t like 10. I caught Metta and Arqua with 9 and 10 Nexotraps each.
I hope the review and tips help you out, dear reader! Save the world from Omnicron and then catch him in Nexomon!
