Hello, dear reader, I hope you’re having a good day. I’m not being paid to write this blog, and it contains information based on my opinions from playing Might and Magic Elemental Guardians on iOS. I’ve played for ten days now and feel comfortable with the game. You can check out my YouTube video on Might and Magic Elemental Guardians at Lunar Nebula LLC Gaming to see the gameplay in action. Might and Magic Elemental Guardians is a free-to-play RPG (role playing game). Ubisoft is the studio behind the game franchise, and Elemental Guardians is quite a departure from the normal series. Ubisoft went straight into the F2P (free-to-play) model and left the turn-based squad tactics behind. The idea now is to level your monsters, collect glyphs, defeat dragons, and graduate from Akadimia. That diploma won’t earn itself! The game features in-app purchases to speed up summoning creatures. You need an internet connection to play Might and Magic Elemental Guardians.
Might and Magic Elemental Guardians is rated 9+ on the App Store for Infrequent/Mild Cartoon or Fantasy Violence. The rating is sufficient. There may be a few adult comments made in cut-scenes, yet it felt like the characters were just being awkward commentators rather than anything deliberately mean-spirited. Creatures which are knocked out in combat fall lifeless to the ground until combat ends. The violence is all cartoony and sparkly. There’s no blood or gore.
Review:
Ever wish Summoners War had a graphics update? Well, Might and Magic Elemental Guardians plays very similarly with a bit more polish (it has been four years since Summoners War was made). The game is a grind. The combat is strategic and nothing stops you from approaching the combat with a snail’s pace. Slow and steady can win the battle! Yay no timers. The graphics are smooth, the creatures range from adorable to stylish, and the music is good. Might and Magic Elemental Guardians has clean animations, and the sound effects will keep your ears satisfied your guardians are doing their job. You know, working for you so you can get a shiny diploma! Might and Magic Elemental Guardians is another F2P game from a long list of F2P games. It doesn’t change the formula, it even knocks your levels off when you rank up creatures, yet it does offer substantial starting rewards/achievements and it does include the instant ticket feature for grinding. The user interface could be better for glyph management and jumping quickly to new levels, but it works and doesn’t take too much of your time away from the gameplay. The auto battle button will be your friend more often than not. The strategy takes a back seat to grinding most of the time. Might and Magic Elemental Guardians manages to include a story between missions which is fun and gives your avatar a reason to progress. The missions are re-playable and continue to increase in difficulty. Defeating all 7 stages per territory will allow you to us instant tickets to grind for materials (no exp gained on creatures though). I recommend playing Might and Magic Elemental Guardians if you are ready for a new F2P game with good graphics and a big studio willing to update the game. It has potential, yet it currently does nothing new with its formula.
Time: Might and Magic Elemental Guardians is energy-based, however, leveling resets it and you gain plenty of ways to add energy with loot chests and even gain some after beating missions. Individual battles aren’t timed and you can play as long as it takes to win or lose.
Pros and Cons: Might and Magic Elemental Guardians is fast to teach you the basics with a short tutorial and simple gameplay. The glyphs aren’t well explained, yet you’ll find them to be of great import. Each set of 3 glyphs gives you a huge boost to a stat. Leveling glyphs up increases the primary stat and, at levels 4 and 7, will offer you substats on the glyph. The game encourages nose to the stone grinding. It does offer instant tickets, yet not enough at the beginning for me to feel like the game isn’t a time vacuum at the start. The best compliment I can give the game is it’s pretty. The combat is competent, yet it can be slow for a game focused on grinding (in my opinion). It also differs from my ingrained Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes interface. Don’t touch the enemies until you’ve selected your attack in this one! Touching an enemy activates your currently selected skill and tells your creature to attack. As long as you’re fine with Auto-battling, draining your battery, and being patient for content updates, now is a decent time to start the game. If you want a new F2P game, then try out Might and Magic Elemental Guardians. Otherwise, work out or watch your garden grow for something more productive and just as time consuming.
Overall Impression: It’s not special. It’s pretty. If you love F2P RPGs, then Might and Magic Elemental Guardians is in the App Store waiting for you! If you don’t, then Might and Magic Elemental Guardians isn’t for you.

Tips:
- Collect missions after spending all energy – Your energy will refill when your avatar levels up. However, your energy will not be added onto your cap unless you pull energy from mail or loot chests. In the beginning leveling is easier and you can wait to collect your daily mission XP until you run out of energy. This will allow for more efficient gains. If you don’t care about efficiency, don’t worry about it.
- Open your free loot chest early in the day – Free loot chests take 8 hours to refresh. You need 2 a day to meet the daily mission. If that won’t work for you, you can grind for loot or look up your Achievements tab to the right of daily missions to find one.
- Farm Vitality glyphs in the first region – Don’t even bother leveling up the first Vitality glyphs you get. Their main purpose will be giving your creatures +40% HP (20% per 3). This makes the Nymph’s healing more effective and lets you outlast foes. This is especially important in the start since your creatures’ skills are poor and not terribly damaging. Once you unlock the Advanced stage of the forest and reach level 14 you can farm for more powerful vitality glyphs. After you reach the level cap then worry about finding the perfect glyph sets for your creatures.
