Hello, dear reader, I hope you’re having a good day. I’m not being paid to write this blog, and it contains information based on my opinions from playing Chrono Ma:Gia on iOS. I beat the tutorial and Raizer’s story. You can check out my YouTube video at Lunar Nebula LLC Gaming on Chrono Ma:Gia if you want to see the gameplay in action. Chrono Ma:Gia is a free-to-play card collecting game. It has some RPG (role-playing game) elements where you’ll select skills for your gifted and create decks to enhance your power. The game features in-app purchases if you want to buy packs of five cards. Chrono Ma:Gia’s mechanics have subtlety in them making the game take time to learn. Thankfully, there’s a Tutorial with free packs, and a wonderful Story Mode which also gives you a bump into joining the game. You can win the Story Mode handily without paying a dime. There are some fun cut-scenes and animations in Chrono Ma:Gia. There are no ads.
Chrono Ma:Gia is rated 9+ for Infrequent/Mild Cartoon or Fantasy Violence. An example of the violence expected is Hearthstone or other digital card games. Note I’d suggest the game as being rated 12+ due to some story themes and the animations of some female Gifted.
Review:
Chrono Ma:Gia is well-animated. It features an art style reminiscent of Yu-Gi-Oh and Gungho’s Puzzle and Dragons. The game is fun to watch, and its core gameplay requires strategy and a bit of luck to claim victory. The music and sound effects spice up your duels with other Gifted as you fight to turn back time.
Time: Chrono Ma:Gia isn’t energy-based. Chrono Ma:Gia’s Story Mode is generally quick to play, yet dueling a player will take around 15 minutes.
Pros and Cons: Chrono Ma:Gia is fast to jump into and takes time to master. The Level Up mechanic spices up your creatures’ stats and can turn games around. You’ll need to build a deck and put some thought into it if you want to compete at higher tiers in PVP (player vs player). The animations of some female Gifted feature a certain amount of bounciness a la Baywatch I’m sure is aimed at a male audience. Chrono Ma:Gia gives new players a lot to start with, requires thinking to play, and overall is fun to play.
Overall Impression: If you love card games like Hearthstone or SolForge; then Chrono Ma:Gia is in the App Store waiting for you! If you don’t enjoy free-to-play games, or card games, then Chrono Ma:Gia may not be for you.
Tips:
I hope the review and tips help you out, dear reader! Time to collect some Skill Gears!

Tips:
- Create a good curve in your deck – Chrono Ma:Gia’s cards have special abilities, still raw stats are important! To level up a card you’ll want to summon it over a weaker card. Just make sure you have the extra 1 MP or magic point for the level up summon!
- Pay attention to Gifted stats – Each Gifted is different. Some Gifted have less health and have a defensive shield instead. The shield defends most damage by the specified amount. A killing attack may just become the MP they need to turn the game around! MP is charged each turn, gained by taking damage, and caps at 15 MP.
- Keep some cards around – My second video on Chrono Ma:Gia shows the importance of holding back in case of AOE magic attacks. Make sure to hold a reserve just in case!
