Hello, dear reader, I hope you’re having a good day. I’m not being paid to write this blog, and it contains information based on my opinions from playing Dungeon Rushers on iOS. Dungeon Rushers is playable offline so you don’t need an internet connection to play. It’s $3.99 normally, and it goes as low as $0.99 according to App Sliced. You can buy cosmetic skins of the characters for $0.99 each. There are no ads and no other in-app purchases. You’ll have to collect treasure, characters, and experience the hard way to build the fortunes your Dungeon Rushers crave. Dungeon Rushers is rated 12+ for the following: Infrequent/Mild Alcohol, Tobacco, or Drug Use or References; and Infrequent/Mild Cartoon or Fantasy Violence. Violence is pixelated and quite tame. If you and your children can handle most Nintendo DS RPGs (role playing games), then you can certainly play Dungeon Rushers.
Review:
Dungeon Rushers is a grind. I’ve played several hours and only unlocked the third character. The good news is there’s plenty of time to spend in the game unlocking new dungeons and seeking out the story. The bad news is the repetitive nature of Dungeon Rushers. Part of my time was spent setting up my own multiplayer dungeon. The online multiplayer seems abandoned so I wasted my time on setting up a magnificent death trap only to find out the roadrunner ran around it all. Now I know why the coyote always seems so frustrated. Dungeon Rushers’ music is decent yet doesn’t stand out. The pixel art is also well-crafted and enjoyable.
Time: You can play Dungeon Rushers as much as you want! There are no energy bars, gameplay related in-app purchases, or daily limits to dungeons.
Pros and Cons: Dungeon Rushers has a story propelling you to delve as far as you can. The gold, XP, and crafting recipes feel too far apart after level 3. Unfortunately, I did get tired of playing the game since I reached a point where you must grind in order to progress or have plenty of healing potions. The limits on your abilities and resources force tactical and strategic decisions when you run into traps which is a cool feature. Dungeon Rushers really makes you feel like you’re exploring a dangerous dungeon. The game lacks a few quality of life features in the UI. My main pet peeve is being unable to buy and equip items immediately. Dungeon Rushers is what it says it is and doesn’t force any ads or in-app payments down your throat. It reminds me of the Flash game Monsters Den Book of Dread (at ArmorGames.com).
Overall Impression: If you love dungeon crawling RPGs, turn-based combat, and pixel art games with simple comedic stories, then Dungeon Rushers is waiting for you to start paying off your debts by delving into dungeons! While not a masterpiece, I think Dungeon Rushers is a solid piece of work. I recommend picking it up when it’s on sale. If you don’t enjoy repetitive games, then Dungeon Rushers isn’t for you.

Tips:
- Buy health potions from the shop – The shop refreshes the items on sale after every victory and sometimes after defeats. You won’t always see health potions in the shop and they are easily the best items you can have in the early game. Save yourself a bit of grinding by buying them early. Eventually you’ll earn enough money to buy an iron axe or two, but the potions are always useful!
- Level up talents which increase your basic attack damage or specialize your characters – Increasing your basic attack damage is always useful since you will run out of mana in most dungeons if you plan to use a spell in every fight. Still, Elian’s arrows make sense to upgrade since you can snipe necromancers and crossbowmen in one attack when it’s upgraded! Pod the Bard will eventually match Elian’s ability to K.O. back row foes (as long as they don’t resist Pod’s magic).
- Hide Pod behind his ‘friends’ – The bard dies easily. Make sure you move your party to take advantage of their strengths and cover their weaknesses. Dungeon Rushers party formation puts the front row as the first three empty oval areas at the top of the party formation screen.
